Secure website hosting

The secure website is delivered by Vercel. Vercel may process standard request data such as IP address, requested URL, time, browser information, and security events to deliver and protect the service. We use this processing to provide a reliable and secure website. The intended legal basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Aggregate page analytics

The secure website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate page views. Possible data points are page path, framework route, filtered query parameters, initial referrer, timestamp, country, region, city, device type, operating system, browser, and script version. Vercel derives a visitor hash from the incoming request and discards it after 24 hours. No analytics cookie, advertising profile, custom event, diagnosis answer, portal URL, network name, credential, or persistent cross-site identifier is used.

We use the aggregate results to understand whether the public pages are reached and which support content is useful. The intended legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving a minimal, privacy-preserving website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object at any time: the switch below turns page-view measurement off for this browser without changing anything else on the website.

Guided diagnosis

The answers you select remain in the current browser page. They are not submitted, stored, or attached to analytics events. The browser cannot inspect your Wi-Fi name, VPN route, DNS configuration, gateway, portal URL, or network traffic.

Offline Wi-Fi Rescue

The saving page uses browser-provided device hints locally to suggest instructions. You can choose different steps. This feature does not store or report those hints or your selection. This does not prevent your browser from sending ordinary request information to the hosting provider when loading the page, as described above.

If you open the Wi-Fi Rescue setup page, its service worker stores four public files in your browser: the rescue instructions, its app manifest, and two WiFi 4 Breakfast icons. This lets the instructions reopen when ordinary internet access is unavailable. It stores no account, cookie, analytics identifier, network information, diagnosis answer, portal content, location, credential, or installation record.

The launcher contains no analytics code and never handles or records the separate request to http://getmewifi.help/. The public files remain until your browser removes them or you clear the site's stored data in browser settings. Removing the Home Screen icon may not clear that browser data.

The offline check and retry work inside this browser. If a saved file is missing, the launcher requests only the missing public files again. It does not send a repair report. The bookmark view uses the fixed #rescue part of the address, not a visitor flag or an installation record.

Plain-HTTP rescue service

The rescue service contains no analytics, cookies, forms, account state, or user input. It rejects query strings and does not reflect request values. Visitor request access logging is disabled for the current experiment at the application and Nginx layers. The rescue server is hosted by Time4VPS, which may process the network data needed to route, secure, and operate its systems; Vercel and network delivery providers play the same role for the secure website. Provider-level retention remains under review before public-release approval.

Synthetic service checks

Approved uptime checks may retain only timestamp, endpoint label, monitoring region, status, latency, DNS result, and exact-body match as service results for 30 days. They are generated by our monitors, not from visitor activity, and are used only for availability and incident response.

Email

If you email us, we process your address and message to answer the request and handle any related security or legal issue. Correspondence is retained only as long as needed for that purpose or an applicable legal obligation. Do not send passwords, voucher codes, room details, tokens, private keys, portal contents, or other sensitive network information.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact support@onekapisch.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For a private operator based in Bavaria, the competent authority is generally the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision.

Recipients and transfers

Website hosting and secure-site analytics are provided by Vercel. The plain-HTTP rescue server is hosted by Time4VPS. Network delivery providers necessarily participate in routing requests to the rescue server. We do not sell data or provide it to advertising networks. International processing and safeguards follow the applicable provider terms and data-processing agreements.

iPhone and iPad app

The app is available on the App Store. This section describes how it handles data.

The app has no account, advertising, tracking SDK, analytics SDK, or in-app purchase in its initial release. It sends fixed, small connection checks to getmewifi.help and wifi4breakfast.app. Those services and their hosting providers necessarily receive the source IP address and ordinary request information needed to route and answer each request. The same provider and retention limits described above apply. The app does not upload Wi-Fi names, diagnosis answers, portal content, credentials, imported terms, or browsing traffic.

Showing the current Wi-Fi name is optional. iOS may require precise When In Use location permission before it provides the SSID. The app does not request coordinates, background location, nearby-network scans, BSSID, or browsing activity. Rescue and offline help remain available if permission is refused.

Recent checks are off by default and remain on the device. Saving Wi-Fi names is a separate choice. The app keeps at most 50 checks for 7 or 30 days and prunes them when opened. Turning history off deletes it; withdrawing name saving removes stored names. Previewed reports omit Wi-Fi names, IP addresses, locations, portal URLs, and credentials.

New Passport entries are unavailable in the initial free release. Existing entries from earlier test builds remain in a protected local file, excluded from backups, until deleted. They can still be edited or deleted without payment. Removing the app removes its local records.

Terms that you explicitly paste or select as a file or photo are processed on device with Apple text extraction and OCR. The app does not read the clipboard or browser automatically. Imported text and highlights remain in memory and are cleared when the screen closes or the app becomes inactive. File and photo providers may use their own cloud services to supply an item you choose.

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets contain static navigation shortcuts without personal network details or background checks.
