Try this first
Take the shortest safe route.
- Open System Settings, then Wi-Fi, and confirm the official venue network is connected.
- Open the rescue page in your normal browser.
- Complete the venue flow, then try two unrelated secure websites.
- If the portal stays hidden, check one recognized VPN, proxy, or DNS setting at a time and restore it after login.
Mac sequence
Start in Wi-Fi settings, finish in the browser.
Confirm the network in System Settings before opening the rescue page. If the venue page appears, complete it there. Do not enter venue credentials into WiFi 4 Breakfast.
- Confirm the intended network is connected.
- Use one fresh browser tab for the rescue request.
- After login, confirm two unrelated secure sites load.
If it stays hidden
Check managed and personal network settings separately.
A VPN, proxy configuration, or custom DNS service may alter the path a portal expects. Personal settings can be paused briefly and restored after login. Managed settings should be left to your IT team.
If the browser shows a certificate warning, stop. Do not continue through it to reach a Wi-Fi login.
When the venue needs to act
Know when to stop troubleshooting.
Ask venue staff whether the portal is operating when reconnecting once and opening a fresh plain request does not work. Ask your IT team when a managed VPN or proxy cannot be changed.
Say this to staffMy Mac is connected to the official guest Wi-Fi, but a fresh plain web request does not open the venue portal. Could you check the portal and reset this session?
