Try this first
Take the shortest safe route.
- Open the Wi-Fi login rescue page once.
- After any venue login, try two unrelated secure websites.
- Check whether another device on the same venue network has the same problem.
- Use the result to decide whether to restore a setting, retry one service, or ask the venue.
Read the result
Use two checks instead of one assumption.
If the venue page appears, complete it and try secure browsing again. If two unrelated secure websites load, the original app or website may be the problem rather than the Wi-Fi.
A phone can silently use cellular data while the selected Wi-Fi remains captive or broken. A successful page load is not proof that the Wi-Fi path worked unless the request is bound to or otherwise verified over Wi-Fi.
- Venue page appears: complete the venue flow.
- Only one service fails: retry that service or check its status.
- Several devices fail: the venue may have an outage.
- Only your device fails: inspect its VPN, DNS, proxy, and saved session.
Web limitation
This website cannot inspect your network settings.
A normal web page cannot reliably read your Wi-Fi name, route, VPN state, DNS configuration, gateway, or the interface a request used. The guided diagnosis asks you what you can observe and gives a cautious next action.
Do not treat a browser result as a native Wi-Fi diagnosis.
When the venue needs to act
Know when to stop troubleshooting.
Ask venue staff when multiple devices cannot reach unrelated secure websites, the portal itself times out, or the Wi-Fi repeatedly disconnects. Those conditions may require operator action.
Say this to staffThe official guest Wi-Fi is connected, but multiple unrelated secure websites fail after the sign-in step. Are you aware of a portal or upstream internet outage?
