Try this first
Take the shortest safe route.
- Select the network icon and confirm the official venue Wi-Fi is connected.
- Open the rescue page in your browser.
- Complete the venue flow, then try two unrelated secure websites.
- If it remains offline, check only recognized VPN or proxy settings and restore them after login.
Windows status
No internet is a symptom, not a final diagnosis.
Microsoft documents that its connectivity indicator uses network probes and accounts for proxies and captive portals. The status can change when a probe is blocked even if another path behaves differently.
Next step
Separate this device from a venue-wide failure.
If a second device also fails after venue login, ask the venue. If only Windows fails, inspect the saved network, personal VPN, and proxy settings without changing employer-managed policy.
When the venue needs to act
Know when to stop troubleshooting.
Ask venue staff when multiple devices fail. Ask your IT team when Windows uses a managed proxy, VPN, certificate, or network policy that you cannot change.
